The Rural Root Theatre Company will be performing The Great Kooshog Lake Hollis McCauley Fishing Derby by Norm Foster, directed by Helen and Martin Weeden. Performances will take place on November 7 (matinée), and November 9–13 (evenings).

The play is a “fish out of water tale” centering around James, a naive business techie who thinks he is really going places in his career. On his way to a big conference where he is scheduled as a guest speaker, he finds himself stranded due to car problems and frustrated for the weekend in the small town of Lake Kooshog during their annual fishing derby. While he’s stuck there, four “locals” have a good time at his expense.

In order to keep everyone safe Rural Root will follow OPH guidelines requiring:

  • COVID-19 vaccination certificate with valid ID
  • Masks worn at all times.
  • There will be no food or drinks sold but you may bring your own water
  • Social distancing will be maintained at all times
